Description

Digital Photo taken along the Yarra River at Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

No cropping, but slight contrast and brightness adjustments made.

This is another in the long line of Melbourne After Dark series (as can be seen below). Although there's no reflection in the Yarra River of this one, I love the different colours depicted here. I hope you like this as much as I do.

I decided to upload this as a submission for a competition *gregorland is hosting: Show me your favourite song! Details on the competition can be found here: [link] (:whisper: the winner gets a one month subscription!)
He's holding it in conjunction with #Compact-Camera-World who is also offering a one month subscription for members who enter! Details here: [link] (And yes, I'm a member - this photo was actually taken with a compact camera. You don't need fancy cameras to take great shots! Check out the gallery of #Compact-Camera-World to see some absolutely stunning pictures taken with compacts!)

One of my favourite songs at the moment is a song called Cosmic Love by Florence + the Machine. I first heard this song on a national radio station (Triple J for those in Australia) a couple of weeks ago, and loved it so much that I went out of my way to get the album it's on (the album I got is called "Lungs"). If you can track this song down (or even the album itself!), I highly recommend that you do - the beats, the crescendo, the vocals... :faint: it's an absolutely stunning song.

The first couple of lines from the song:

A falling star fell from your heart and landed in my eyes
I screamed aloud, as it tore through them, and now it's left me blind

The stars, the moon, they have all been blown out
You left me in the dark
No dawn, no day, I'm always in this twilight
In the shadow of your heart

Even though the photo was taken a while ago, the song reminded me of this pic. There's no stars or moon in this image and the hidden lightning could be thought of as falling stars. Hidden in the time between day and night, this image exists to tempt the viewer with its colours.

Or something like that, anyways :D

This is a very interesting shot for me.
The colours are unusual, I love the hint of orange, brown in the clouds it makes the feel of the picture more earthy.
The lighting in the picture gives it a surreal appearance too.
I wish I had a more professional knowladge regarding photography, because I'm sure I would see a golden section there if I did and that would be awesome.
There are many different shapes and forms here that make the photo active in my eyes as there are so many things to see.
I love the immigery in this, it tells a story too.
You have a keen eye I think for what is attractive to see, this would be a great wall decoration for an office or an upbeat resteraunt in my oppinion.
I like the way that natural and manmade are blending together as well, the subtle colours from the lighting seem to fit perfectly with the environment.
There is a good balance of sky and land perspective which makes the whole visual experience pleasant for me.
I will be looking in on some of your other pieces as this has drawn me in completely, I can feel the atmosphere it is great.
Well done<img class="avatar" src="a.deviantart.net/avatars/x/p/x…" alt=":iconxpose-it:" title="Xpose-it"/>
