Digital Photo taken along the Yarra River in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

No cropping, but slight contrast and brightness corrections made.

I was going through old photos that I had taken and come across this one that was taken the same night as the Melbourne After Dark series (see below). I hadn't uploaded this one, but thought I maybe should. It was taken immediately after the Melbourne After Dark 1 photo; you could probably see the exact same buildings in this one as the other photo pretty easily.

I'm critiquing this because I can find one hundred words that will summarise just how amazing it is!!!!! Wow! There's absolutely nothing wrong with this shot in my eyes, i even like the fact that there is a slight blur to the buildings in the left and a sharp focus on the centre buildings. The reflection is faultless, it's crisp, strong and the colours are bold and beautiful. The colour and vibrancy that this shot offers is just gorgeous. I absolutely adore it and I've taken a look at your other ones and I think they are equally beautiful. This is a wonderful series!

...the horizon is inclined, a little. It's almost unnoticeable, and I wouldn't have paid any attention to it if I hadn't read the journal. (the incline, not the picture! :) )

That said, I don't see why they said it was "not of good quality." Granted, I am not a professional photographer, but I think it's amazing.

K, an actual comment...

It's really beautiful. I like how your eyes are drawn to the boldness of the buildings, and how their lights are bright--extraordinarily so--but not painful or annoying. And then the way the buildings are to one side plus the unnoticeable incline, :) directs the eye toward the calmness of the background, and turns that part of the background into an almost-middle-space. This effect brings the viewer through a large range of emotions in a short amount of time, unconscious at first, but quickly realized by the viewer.

You can hear the noise of the city, and then the swish of the water (I could, I swear!) It's very, very visual and vibrant, not only to the eyes, but in the mind. I absolutely love it.

Nice shot. I like how the viewer can't see the whole structure buildings; it gives a subtle sense of mystery to it. I also appreciate how it's got a sort of sepia tone to it, instead of a black and white one. Usually when you see pops of colour like this, the rest is in black and white, so it's anice change of pace to have a more sepia one to it. It also gives a subtle air of mystery, like the hidden buildings. =) Great job!
